Fourth Quarter Language Arts Final Project: Apocalyptic Novelette
The final project in Language Arts was the apocalyptic novelette where I had to work with three other people to create a novelette about the end of the world or about how people survived after an apocalpse. Of all the projects I have done in my 9th grade year, the apocalyptic novelette was the hardest and most fun. The novelette had to be at least 30 pages in size and had to be in the first or third person. It also had to be in past or present tense and could not change at all. (This is really hard to do) The last thing about the novelette was it had to be character driven with the characters facing moral dilemas that change them as a person. All of the qualities easily fit into this project, but the qualities I am emphasizing are communication and collaboration. When working with my group, we had to communicate and collaborate a lot because if not, our novelette would not be very good and would not make sense. In order to produce a good novel, we spent hours talking and working together to produce a final copy of the novelette.
