Fourth Quarter Math Final Project: Bank Report

The last project in math for 9th grade was the bank report project. The project was comparing three banks to one another by comparing their CD APYs. We had to find which bank was the best for a one year CD, a five year CD, and a ten year CD. In the end, we found that Chase Bank had the best rates for all three types of CDs. This project demonstrated inquiry because throught the entire project, we came across terms we didn't know and problems with software we couldn't figure out, so we had to ask. Another quality shown through this project is persistense. We demonstrated persistence because very few if any of us got this right on the first try.

Bank Report Conclusion

After looking at the CDs from all three banks, we know which banks would be best to invest in. The banks don’t vary much for each of the CDs available with a $10,000 deposit. For a one year CD, Chase Bank is the best bank to invest in. For a five year CD, either Chase Bank or 5/3 Bank are the best to invest in. For a ten year CD, Chase Bank is the best bank to invest in. In conclusion, the best bank for all of the CDs is Chase Bank, so the best choice is to invest the $10,000 at Chase Bank.
